What is the Address of the Bus Station/Stop?
With the search results from CheckMyBus, you can easily check the exact address of the station or stop of origin as well as the address of your destination. These results are also accompanied by a map showing the exact location. Where can you find this information? Very easy. All you need to do is click on the „+“ symbol on the left end of each result and you will obtain all the necessary information of both the route and the stations. To view the maps of the stations, just click on the connection and the maps of both stations will appear as well as the addresses.
If you are unsure if you’ve entered the right information or want to double check, you don’t have to worry because all the bus companies show a summary of the purchase before making the payment. Naturally the address of the stations and/or stops also appear on the bus ticket.
What to Do if the Bus Leaves or Arrives Late?
The passenger transport companies do not respond to delays that are not directly attributable to them, caused by a fortuitous event or due to legal or administrative requirements.
In case the cause of the delay is attributable, it is necessary to make a formal claim to demand the corresponding compensation for damages that may have been caused to the traveler. In this case, the passenger must demonstrate the damage and its economic repercussions by presenting all the invoices and pertinent receipts that show the generated expenses.
In case of a breakdown during the trip, the bus company must find and pay for the alternative means necessary to take passengers to their final destination as quickly as possible. In case of lodging or maintenance costs, it will also be the company that has to assume them.
Some bus companies, such as Greyhound, offer a bus tracker that allow you to search for a bus based on its schedule number and date or arrival and departure cities.
How Much Time in Advance is Necessary to Take the Bus?
Naturally, there are several factors that affect the amount of time necessary for the traveler to arrive at the bus station or stop. In case of domestic trips, with the ticket already printed and without special luggage it is usually sufficient to be about 10-15 minutes early. In general, when it comes to international routes, it’s a good idea to arrive at the station at least 30 minutes before the bus leaves.
Do you travel with your bicycle, with a baby carriage or do you have special needs to be accommodated during the trip? Companies recommend arriving at least 30 minutes ahead of time to avoid possible unforeseen events, regardless of whether it is a national or international trip.
Our recommendation: it is always better to arrive relaxed and with time to spare than to arrive running or even miss the bus for arriving too late.
What Do I Do if I’ve Missed the Bus?
If you miss the bus for reasons beyond the control of the company, each company has its own regulations and the corresponding conditions of change and cancelation apply. While in many cases, you can exchange your ticket for another date or time for an extra fee, many companies offer flexible ticket schemes that can help prepare for any potential travel changes. Jefferson Lines offers the option to purchase Refundable Tickets, which are valid for travel for up to a year after the purchase date. These tickets do not need to be updated when traveling via the same scheduled route for a different day, and can still be used. Should the schedule need to be changed, the tickets can be brought to the nearest bus stop for no extra charge. Greyhound offers a similar option with its Flexible Tickets, which allows for passengers to receive full refunds if they haven’t used their ticket or half refunds if only half of a round trip is used, and exchange the ticket to another date free of charge.
Can Unaccompanied Minors Travel by Bus?
In many cases, children who are aged 12 to 16 can travel unaccompanied on the bus, provided they fill out an Unaccompanied Child Form. Both Greyhound and Jefferson Lines use this form for underage passengers, which requires:
– Passengers aged 12 to 16 must pay full fare (rather than any discounts they may receive when accompanied by an adult).
– The trip should be direct, without any transfers, and can last for a maximum of eight hours (each direction) between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
– Both the departing and destination stations should be full serviced facilities and not curbside stops which should be open when the child’s bus is scheduled to arrive.
– The person who is meeting the unaccompanied child listed on the form must have a positive ID as well, otherwise the child may be released to the custody of Child Protective Services or local authorities.
– An additional fee of $15 ($30 for roundtrips) for each child traveling unaccompanied.
When traveling with megabus however, all children under 17 are required to be accompanied by an adult or someone at least 17 years of age.

Dear Heena,
Thank you for your message. Generally, buses always make an effort to make their routes on time, however there is always the risk of a delay from external events, such as weather or adverse road conditions, so it’s impossible to give a certain guarantee that the bus will not be delayed. Though, typically buses do make every effort to travel their scheduled routes on time.

We are continuously investing major efforts to have up-to-date and 100% correct information on our website. Is half an hour enough time for me to change from one bus to another? In February 2019 I arrive in Grand Rapids MI from Charlevoix MI [a 6 hour trip]. I change in the bus station to another bus leaving for Toledo OH. There is just 25 minutes between my arriving and my leaving. With winter weather, is it likely I will miss my bus to Toledo? Could the bus to Toledo be held for me? Thanks, Steve
Dear Steven,
Thank you for your message. Half an hour should be plenty of time for you to change from one bus to another if you’re doing so at the same station. However, it is worth noting that this can be risky if your bus there is delayed. With this in mind, we’d suggest looking into a flexible bus ticket so that if you do miss the first bus, you can easily get the next bus without hassle. If you have any further questions, please feel free to get in touch with us again.

Hi, i booked a bus on your website with a bus line called butterfield stage line. The location it sent me to was at a Dennys parking lot. I went in to ask if any buses pick people up there because the bus did show up and they told me no buses show there. So this BUTTERFIELD STAGE LINE is fake , i would recommend taking them off your site if you aren’t fake as well.
Dear Madeline,
Thank you for your message. We’re sorry to hear that you’ve had a negative experience traveling with Butterfield Stage Line. For further questions or concerns regarding the company, Butterfield Stage Lines can be contacted at 951-765-5003
